As we scale up our efforts in marine environmental protection, we appreciate the close collaboration we have forged with development partners including the @UNEP the European Union and county governments.
I was pleased to launch the constructed Mikindani Wetland Sewage Treatment Plant in @MombasaCountyKe. This vital project was made possible through the collaboration of the County Government of Mombasa, the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute (KMFRI), the European Union — funded Go Blue Project and UNEP.
The construction of this plant marks a significant milestone in reducing sewage pollution, with direct positive impacts on public health and marine conservation. In light of its success, I have directed KMFRI to use this facility as a model for replication in other areas.
In attendance were European Union Ambassador to Kenya H.E @@EUAmbKenya her French counterpart H.E. @arnaud_suquet and Blue Economy and Fisheries PS @PS_Betsy_Njagi.
The occasion was also graced by Mombasa Governor H.E. @A_S_Nassir, Mombasa Woman Rep Hon. Zamzam Mohammed, Senator Hon. Mohamed Faki Mwinyihaji, Jomvu MP Hon. Badi Twalib and other leaders from Mombasa County.
